Wednesday was my exam at the cancer center and my chemo treatment. My CT scan came back with all the tumors slightly smaller, including those in my lungs. My doctor would like to start the pill (Lynparza) but can see that the chemo is still working.
We were both surprised that the tumor marker was slowly going up but the tumors are going down. Just goes to show that tumor markers cannot fully be relied upon. Praise the Lord always! I do have some side effects that are making a slight problem including swollen feet, ankles and part of the leg, especially the left leg so yesterday I had an ultrasound at the radiology associates right after the chemo. I haven't heard that I have blood clots so I guess no news is good news unless the doctor wasn't in today when the report came in:) Also, Dr. Paul cut out the Abraxane and just gave me Gemzar yesterday to see if that will affect the breast redness and swelling. So good so far on that test:) Guess it didnt help on the foot swelling though:) I still have foot neuropathy which isn't painful but my feet are very numb. From what I have read, I will always have that! Well, that is the report for this week. At least all that I can remember. If I can't remember everything, I just blame it on "chemo brain:) On a lighter note, I finished my knitted hat. I now have 2. One was knit by my friend and pastor Martha Kearse, and she kindly gave me the pattern and I knit one. The funny thing is I made several "big" mistakes which I didn't realize until I was done and mine is much bigger than hers because I added too many rows. Oh well, it is just a hat and I will wear it:):) Have to wear something on my bald head. |
