Gingerbread Houses

The grandkids did such a fine job making their gingerbread houses over Thanksgiving vacation. Here is a video of their work in progress. Helping with the gingerbread houses are Jenny and Bella. So, we have in the video: William, Andrew, Nicholas, Samuel, Jenny, Bella, Ruthy and Sarah. For the most part in the backround speaking but not pictured are Kathy and Mimi!

Thanksgiving, 2008


We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration with many of the extended family of Gillespies, Wheelers, Peaks and Hermosas. In the backround from the Gillespie property are the rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in which are the Peaks of Otter. I "lifted" this picture off Erica's facebook entry:) Thanks Erica!

Sarah and William in Lynchburg Living Magazine

This story is about 2 of our grandchildren who went door-to-door with 2 other friends to raise money for 2 causes close to their hearts..William (our grandson) was diagnosed with Type I diabetes and Allison (a neighbor) was diagnosed with acute lymphobalstic leukemia about 2 years ago. This magazine listed all charities in this area for donations including the Leukemia Foundation and Juvenile Diabetes.
